Sofia's Royal Chair Project

My latest project is to turn my cube into Cedric's tower chamber from Sofia the First. First I applied a stone patten to the wall. The sheets came from Party City. It's meant for halloween but it works for castle walls too.

In searching for set dressing I came across this chair at the local flew market. I was told this chair dates back to the late 1800s. It was reupholstered in 1947.This would be perfect for guests to sit and chat in. Instead of leaning against my desk. ;)  This is how I Sofiaized it.
After I sanded and stained it, I taped it off to be dyed.

Here you can see the difference with the first dye pass. I used Rita purple liquid dye.

Second pass and first pass on the top cushions.

Final pass.

I also redid the trim. I chose a gold trim from Joann's.

This certificate was put on when it was last repaired in the 1947.
It was fun to repurpose it and give it new life. I would what my next project will be. ;)

Here is the final product on set.
